Join me at Book Larder, Seattle's community cookbook store, for a cooking demo and Glorious Vegetables of Italy book signing. I'll show you how to make delicious eggplant "meatballs" in tomato sauce and talk about all the wonderful Italian ways with vegetables from artichokes to zucchini.

Hands-On Glorious Vegetables of Italy Cooking Class at 18 Reasons, San Francisco

While most associate Italian cooking with iconic dishes such as pasta and pizza, the truth is that vegetables are the major players. In fact, vegetables often take the place of meat in many traditional "cucina povera" dishes. In this hands-on cooking class we'll pay tribute to vegetables from the beginning to end of the meal. We'll make Minestrone Verde, Eggplant "Meatballs" in Tomato Sauce, Sweet & Sour Peppers with Oil-Cured Olives, and Carrot-Polenta Cake with Marsala.
